Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 19, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Pinlify (“Pinlify,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you visit pinlify.com, connect a Pinterest account, or contact us about the Service. Pinlify is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Pinterest, Inc.

1. Information we handle

1.1 Information you provide

We may receive your email address and the contents of messages when you contact support, privacy, or legal. We do not ask for or receive your Pinterest password.

1.2 Information received from Pinterest

When you choose to connect Pinterest through OAuth, Pinterest provides the permissions and account information needed to verify the connection. The requested permissions are shown in the Pinterest authorization screen and are configured through PINTEREST_SCOPES. Pinlify uses the minimum permissions needed for the connected workflow and does not retain API-derived profile or board data in the session.

The current connection flow stores an encrypted, httpOnly session cookie in your browser containing the OAuth credentials needed to keep the connection active. We do not place access tokens in page HTML, client-side JavaScript, URLs, logs, or source code. You can remove this connection from Settings at any time.

1.3 Blog and website information

If you provide a public blog URL or RSS feed, Pinlify may process the publicly available post title, description, featured image URL, and canonical link needed to prepare a draft. Do not submit private or password-protected content unless you have permission to do so.

1.4 Technical information

Our hosting provider may process standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, request timestamps, and security events to operate and protect the website. We do not sell this information.

2. How we use information

  • To provide the website, the Pinterest OAuth connection, and the features you request.
  • To prepare editable Pinterest content from blog information you provide.
  • To send a Pinterest action only after you have specifically chosen and approved that action in the Service.
  • To respond to support, privacy, and security requests.
  • To prevent abuse, protect the Service, and comply with law.

3. How information is shared

We may use service providers for hosting, security, email, and error monitoring. They may process information only to provide services to us and must protect it appropriately.

We send information to Pinterest only when necessary to complete an action you choose, such as reading the boards needed for your workflow or publishing content you approve. We do not sell Pinterest data, use it for advertising outside Pinterest, combine it with other people's Pinterest data, or share it with another advertising service.

4. Pinterest data rules

Pinlify is designed to follow Pinterest's Developer Guidelines. You are responsible for the content you submit and the Pinterest actions you authorize. Pinterest's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service also apply to your use of Pinterest.

5. Cookies and session security

Pinlify uses a short-lived OAuth state cookie to protect the authorization flow from cross-site request forgery. After a successful connection, it uses an encrypted, httpOnly session cookie so the server can recognize your connection without exposing the token to browser scripts. You can delete the session by disconnecting Pinterest or clearing your browser cookies.

6. Retention and deletion

The session cookie is retained only for the period needed to keep your connection active and is removed when you disconnect. To request deletion of information associated with a support request or any future Pinlify account record, email privacy@pinlify.com from the address associated with the request. We may retain limited information when required by law or needed to prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information. Email privacy@pinlify.com to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before completing it.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact privacy@pinlify.com.

9. International processing

Pinlify and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy as the Service changes. We will post the updated version here and change the date above. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
